Men's Residence at 325 James St N is a 24 hour emergency crisis shelter for 58 men. Professional staff provides the support and services needed daily by the homeless, including: warm meals, clothing, counseling, a safe place to sleep, and referrals for housing, health care, and other essential community services.

How do we serve?
Basic needs are met at Men's Services:
- Nutritious & delicious meals and snacks
- Warm bed, clean sheets and pillows
- Secure and safe environment
- Clean dorms and campus
- Laundry services available
- Warm showers
- Basic necessities-shampoo, razor, deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, socks, underwear and gently used men's clothing or shoes when available
Case Management Services
- Case workers assist clients to identify and create a plan and set goals
- Recover lost or stolen I.D.
- Locate housing in community
- Make appointments with Ontario Works
- Healthcare needs met by clinic or CCAC (Community Care Access Centre)
- Addiction and mental health needs
- Referrals to community services
- Referrals to Taking Steps Program for men
Healthcare Services
- Weekly clinics offering primary care services by Family Physicians and Nurses
- Specialist referrals, lab work, and other medical tests available
- Internist specialist clinic offered once per month or as needed
- Psychiatrist appointments and assissments available as required
- Mental Health Nurse visits weekly
- Clinic is part of the local Shelter Health Network
- E-health charting used to follow clients throughout the community to improve quality of care
Chaplaincy and Spirituality Services
- Sunday night chapel service weekly (open to the community in general)
- Chaplain's office is on campus
- Chaplaincy Interns available to all clients and are interactive in various aspects of program and group sessions
How you can help:
Because we serve 200 individuals monthly, we are in constant need of toiletry supplies: razors, toothbrushes, toothpaste, men's underarm deodorant (for $3 we provide a complete kit!), new or used towels, single size bedding and pillows. Gift certificates always come in handy.
Clothing in season (new or used): gloves, hats, blue jeans, underwear, socks, running shoes, winter boots, work boots, coats.
