Suntrac offers an all inclusive Outpatient Addiction Treatment Program for chemically dependant males over the age of 19. Innovative group sessions are offered Monday through Friday with the option of day or evening classes in the Core Program.
Group sessions are held day or evening, led by staff trained in addictions treatment and working with other service providers in the addictions treatment community. The program is designed to equip and support individuals through specialized assessments and treatment plans that identify habits, causes and triggers of substance misuse.
Clients progress through a series of phases designed to deal with not just the substance use but to grapple with ways the whole person can change for the better. The phases of the program include the following elements:
- Intake / Assessment
- Pre-Treatment
- Core Treatment (day or evening)
- Aftercare
- Special electives available for clients, their families and supporters
Intake / Assessment
Individuals are encouraged to call and book an appointment with our Intake worker which will help determine the client's immediate needs and to provide direction for next steps in the assessment / treatment process.
The Assessment Program empowers clients by helping to identify and access appropriate resources corresponding to their individual needs. Following the standardized provincial assessment tools workers may refer clients to further Suntrac services and/or other community resources based on the assessment findings, client preferences and expressed needs.
Pre-treatment
Pre-treatment helps orient and prepare clients for the more intensive Core Program. It involves group sessions as well as individual support. If additional support or treatment is required in preparation, Suntrac staff will work with the client to refer additional supports, either through Mission Services or other community agencies.
Core Treatment: Intensive Day or Evening Program
Outpatient treatment services allow individuals the flexibility of accomplishing recovery goals while residing in their home setting, and continuing employment.
Suntrac provides carefully monitored treatment programs for substance use recovery. At the same time, we play an important role by assisting persons needing support and counseling when confronting legal issues, employment support concerns and family maintenance matters.
It is a Monday to Friday intensive day or evening program with interactive psycho-educational group presentations. Case management is part of the service provided.
Aftercare
Focusing on relapse prevention and maintenance, Aftercare is offered to encourage individuals to continue in their recovery. The program is designed to support and reinforce the recovery principles and lifestyle changes that begin in the initial phase of treatment.
Clients who have participated in a treatment program other than Suntrac are welcome to participate in the Aftercare Program. Clients will be required to set up an Aftercare Intake appointment and provide a letter of completion from the Treatment Centre where they have completed program.
Once clients are registered to attend Aftercare they will be able to start immediately during the next scheduled Aftercare group.
Special Electives
Electives enhance the Core Program by providing the knowledge and resources on topics related to the recovery process. Suntrac recognizes that the support and understanding of family and friends is a critical factor in successful recovery.
Therefore, in addition to electives for clients, Suntrac also offers electives for family and friends on how to support your loved one while in recovery and provides links to support groups and other addictions service providers in the community.
Referrals
Admission to Suntrac programming is based upon an individual's expressed desire to work on achieving recovery in their life. Participation in programming is voluntary. We encourage self-referrals and also welcome referrals from health professionals, community agencies, employee assistance programs, probation and parole, and family members or friends.
We welcome your phone calls at 905-528-0389 to set up your initial visit or to inquire further about the recovery services provided at Suntrac.
For over twenty years, Ron hid his drug addiction from work colleagues, his close friends and his wife. Cocaine, marijuana and alcohol were every day recreational aids to Ron who held down a good job as the premiere sales person at a major car dealership. The addition of prescription pain killers to his drug recipe pushed Ron to the precipice.
