Is your loved one in Recovery? Is your life affected by the changes and you don't know how to cope? Do you wish you had a clearer understanding of addiction and the recovery process? Do you have questions about relapse?...if so, this group is designed just for you.
This open group is intended to provide assistance for people supporting individuals with substance use issues. Whether your loved one is in addiction treatment, planning on, or ever been in treatment or actively using substances, this group is created for you to help you understand what addiction is and how it negatively affects you and your family.
Goals
Individuals will examine and practice healthy behaviours through:
- Understanding what you can and cannot control
- Detachment versus care taking
- Dealing with fear, shame and resentment
- Setting boundaries and limits
- Assessing and expressing wants and needs
- Honesty
- Effective communication strategies
- Increasing your self esteem through self nurturing behaviours and assertiveness
- Appropriately expressing feelings

This thought provoking journey runs every Thursday evening from 6:30-8:30pm
Location
The group will take place at 293 Wellington St. N., Hamilton, Suite 106. We are conveniently located just north of Barton St. on Wellington. (Across the street from the Hamilton General Hospital)
