Employment & Training Services is located at 50 Murray St. W., in Hamilton's North End community. The second floor of this former school is ideal for Marty Karl Centre, our staffing and employment development services, including the Human Services Training Centre. It is also the central location of one of our dedicated employer partners, HEAT. HEAT provides quality catering and janitorial services to customers throughout Hamilton while also providing supported training and employment to many clients served by Employment & Training Services.

   Marty Karl Centre has the right combination of employment placement services and supports to get you working in a job you like and can do.

With a reputation of compassion and professionalism, Marty Karl Centre provides employment placement services and supports through a network of employer partners that train and develop job skills in adults with barriers to employment, including disabilities. We are best known for our effective Food Services and Janitorial Services placement and training successes, based on our exclusive employment placement and training process. Graduates of our supported placement and training processes enjoy paid work and ongoing access to develop their employment advancement and success. Over 85% of graduates in the past 2 years secured employment!

Food Services or Janitorial Services Placement & Training Includes:

• 8-12 weeks of supported job training placement with a dedicated employer partner (period of training varies by individual plan, funding, and barriers to employment)
• 6-12 weeks of job experience placement with an employer partner
• Flexible training hours
• LEAPS Success Skills Seminars
• Ongoing Job Search & Employment Placement Support (up to 36 months, depending on individual plan, funding, and barriers to employment)
