Operation Jamesville

With the help of many groups and individuals we have completed Phase 3 of the Renovation Upgrade for the Jamesville 2 on the corner of James and Barton Street.  

Phase 1 was the renovation of the basement offices and chapel area.  Phase 2 was the complete renovation of the second and third floor residences and new stair tower entrance.  In this last phase, we have provided for the combination of our teaching kitchen (previously located at 50 Murray) and the institutional kitchen at the Jamesville 2. This combination has resulted in one upgraded, multi-purpose kitchen.

In order to keep both the Shelter Kitchen Services and Food Services Training Program in operation while we closed the JV2 kitchen for the renovation, the shelter kitchen operations were temporarily moved to 50 Murray Street.  The sharing of kitchen space went extremely well and it is only through the committed co-operation of our staff that we were able to continue to provide our food services so smoothly.

Mission Services would like to sincerely thank all of our volunteers.  Whenever we do a renovation project, community and church volunteers come to the forefront.  Bethel Gospel Tabernacle’s Men’s Group helped with demolition and renovation to our storage area.  Volunteers from Westdale Reformed Church and from our General Contractor, Henry Schilthuis, assisted with the demolition and removal of equipment in the actual kitchen area.  We could not have done it without you.Thank you also to our faithful donors.  To build, upgrade, or even repair requires money.  All of the phases have been accomplished by the generosity of our general public donors…YOU!  For this we are very grateful.  Thank you. 

NEEDS:
