The first snow of winter arrived in Hamilton this December. Just enough snow to make the merchants happy and the rest of us to think about Christmas Day preparations. Here at Mission Services, volunteers and staff have been busy preparing for the distribution of Christmas Care hampers and new toys this December. The trends we have witnessed testify to a Christmas season and New Year of great need. For example, we saw a 21% increase in the number of people coming to our food bank this November. This total also reflected a 50% increase in the number of children using our food bank this year. We are in the midst of distributing Christmas Care Hampers this month, but you can still help us ensure that no one will go away empty handed. Please go to our online Christmas Catalogue and see if you can sponsor a single hamper for $60 or a family of four for $300. Thank you for your prayerful support. May I wish you and your loved ones a blessed Christmas filled with peace, love and happiness. Sincerely,
Edward “Pastor Ed” Raddatz
